Sean Reveron’s past spans two coasts and more than his fair share of prominent subcultures. Growing up on the West Coast, from an early age Sean’s first experiences into the realm of music came courtesy of his mother. Working at the famed Whisky nightclub on Sunset in West Hollywood, Sean’s mother first introduced him to the likes of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabath. From there, the door was blown wide open for exploration into numerous music genres, which has come to be an integral part of Sean Reveron’s RockersNYC label. The prevalent music theme, along with surreal imagery, has come to mark the brand which has since turned the corner with a new label launch titled God’s Prey as well as some upcoming collaborations for the 2010 Fall/Winter season. In the following feature we delve into the extensive musical background of Sean Reveron as well as gaining some of his thoughts into his new brand and collaborations with the help of his better-half, Meghan MacRae….

The kids today watching Anti-Nowhere League, who were old when I was a kid.
When I was your age we didn’t have all the fancy pants and the American Apparels with the MP4s and the kids doing the hummana hummana and the hound dog with the hips gyrating and the marijuana cigarettes. We had punk.
I was recently working on a script with some 20-somethings and when I asked if they had any musical requests they said, “Yeah, anything but punk.” I involuntarily farted some old man tears and then made this, the greatest punk mix of all time for the kangaroo fuckers over at Modular because I was supposed to. It included this note…
“I’m listening to these songs right now from the perspective of a kid who’s used to mash ups and samples and over-the-top dance music and a lot of them sound kind of shitty. I mean, ‘Stand Strong, Stand Proud’ isn’t exactly catchy. It’s a racket. However, what you have to understand about punk is it was so much more than the music. We were obsessed. It was more like a cult. We fought skinheads regularly and talked about them way more than that. We lived in a big house together. We went to anarchist gatherings and argued about communism. We would die for each other (hence all the songs about unity). We would have listened to GBH and Discharge no matter what they sounded like. In fact, when I bought my first Crass record I listened to it on the wrong speed for weeks – and loved it. For better or for worse, punk was about fierce loyalty and if the music sounded good, that was just a bonus.”

SHADOW.OF.DEATH…KILLER.no.FILLER!!!
77 Klash – Shadow of Death EP
Releases world wide June 15, 2010
Shadow of Death is 77 Klash’s first release in over two years, as well as Klash’s first official release on T&B. Shadow of Death has been a long time coming, having been started over a year ago by T&B Cohorts Drop The Lime & AC Slater, this EP is the perfect hybrid of dubstep, dancehall, hip hop, punk and bass music.
Those unfamiliar with 77 Klash, he’s a Brooklyn based artist, raised in NYC, Jamaica and even spent some time on the west coast and this EP really showcases Klash’s spectrum; from angsty mob stomping aggression like on Shadow of Death, to the socio-politcal activist mentality on Dangerous Nights to the sunshine inspired love song No Turning Back. Klash is all about it on this EP, even going hard on the epic Supra 1 Remix of Little Jinder’s Polyhedron instrumental.
We’re not really ones to create new sub-genre’s, it’s all about the bass for T&B, but we can really see the media having a field day trying to describe this EP! It’s all about forward thinking music to us.
